Virginia Lasheraswas born in Almeria, Spain, in 1946.
She studies at the School of arts and Crafts in Seville between 1965 and 1968, and later on at the Santa Isabel Fine Arts School. Once in Madrid, Virginia Lasheras completes her education at the San Fernando Academy and the Ciencias de la Educación Institute of the Madrid University.
In the 70s, after obtaining the “El Paular” scholarship granted by the Ministry of Education and Culture to study the landscapes of Segovia and the bronze medal at the scholarship exhibition, painter Virginia Lasheras gets into Madrid’s School of Arts and Crafts as drawing professor.
After obtaining a scholarship from the Centro de Investigación de Nuevas Formas Expresivas y Ares Plásticas, in 1981 Virginia Lasheras takes the courses to obtain a doctorate at the Madrid Fine Arts University and in 1998 joins its Drawing department as associate teacher. In 1997 she will be appointed Head of the Drawing department.
After exhibiting in New York, Madrid or Zurich, in 1997 painter Virginia Lasheras joins the group or artists at Dalmau art gallery in Barcelona.
